With its curvaceous nose and bold styling, the Mobilvetta K-Yacht 80 is instantly recognisable – as well as being a welcome change from the brick like shapes of some older A-class Motorhomes.
It’s also one of the very few A-class motorhomes currently available with the doors (both habitation and cab) on the UK side.
Based on a Fiat Ducato chassis, with the new 160bhp engine for extra grunt. It also gets bronze highlights on the dashboard, a leather steering wheel, automatic air-conditioning, a DAB radio with sat-nav and reversing camera, cruise control, Traction Plus, Hill Descent Control and twin airbags.
Inside, there’s not just a lounge at the rear but one up front that takes advantage of the full width A-class cab and panoramic windscreen, as well as the swivelling captain’s chairs. The fixed table’s movement is controlled by a foot pedal and there’s a vast array of interior lighting, plus speakers set into the base of the drop-down cab bed.
This front drop down bed on the Mobilvetta K Yacht (approx 1.90m x 1.35m) is manually operated and has a roof vent directly above. More surprising is that the second double bed, in the rear, is another drop down bed (approx. 2.10m x 1.40m) controlled electronically.
The central kitchen, along the nearside, has a high end resin worktop with a lip to catch any spillages, as well as a matching slot in sink cover.
The hob is a stylish Thetford unit with two gas rings and one induction ring powered by mains 230V along with a combi oven/grill.
Also on the offside is the bathroom, which includes all the facilities in one space. The shower cubicle has bifold doors and a wooden duckboard which also has the rotating wall enabling you to switch between the toilet & sink to a full shower space.
Meanwhile, light-coloured woodwork and pale ‘eco leather’ upholstery create a spacious feeling, and the standard Winter Pack, Combi 6 gas/electric blown-air heating and onboard 120 litre fresh water tank bode well for all-season use.
