It’s no surprise that with a new motorhome being an expensive purchase used motorhomes are often attractive options. At Cara Motorhomes we have a wide range of used motorhomes in stock and we find they are often a very good alternative for customers.
But how do you make sure you purchase the right vehicle? With so many used motorhomes out on the market it can be a frustrating process. It’s also important to remember that this is still likely to be an expensive purchase so you want to make sure you’re not entering a world of problem.
So here is our guide to buying the best second hand motorhome for you.
Used Motorhomes vs. Used Cars
Do you remember being 17 and buying your first second hand car? There was so much choice out there but there was normally that wise person to guide you away from the potential disaster!
The same theory applies here. Whilst a lot of the used motorhomes you see will be perfectly fine there will be some problematic vehicles out there. Unfortunately it’s part of the course and you just have to take your time and find the right deal for you. Generally the old saying applies, if a deal is too good to be true, it probably is.
So How Do I Find The Right One?
Get up close and personal: look along the sides for ripples or dents, check where sealant has been applied and the care that has gone into the build. Remember, stickers applied in unusual places could be hiding something sinister. Make sure you take the vehicle for a test drive and really put it to the test.
Don’t Settle For Anything Other Than What You Want.
At Cara we always advise that our customers buy the motorhome that is right for them. This really applies when buying you a used motorhomes. It may be tempting to settle for a layout that isn’t perfect because it’s available. You shouldn’t be settling with a purchase like this. What Else To Look Out
Of course you should check to see for HPI on a vehicle. Remember to consider the warranty you’ll be getting offered too. At Cara we regularly offer a three-year warranty on our used motorhomes and that kind of reassurance is a big boost.
But genuinely our main bit of advice would be to trust your instincts and take your time. Don’t rush this purchase because a deal seems good. Remember we’re always available to discuss anything motorhomes with. Click here to contact us now!
